The land, our environment, has so many amazing things to offer. From the shoreline to the mountains, and every hill country and water way in between – what we can see around us is a gift. But if you have been around for more than a few years, that gift grows more tarnished everyday. From changing weather patterns to man made constructs – this world isn’t the same as it was – and wont remain as it is.
I started photography as a child, with a Kodak disposable camera. The few pictures we took time to develop weren’t very good – and even fewer aged well. Not to mention, my family did not travel, so none of them captured the glory of the day.
So here I am, with my own family – my beautiful wife that lives to travel, and our three charismatic and carefree girls poised to take on their own world. Land escapes is that adventure. A place to store the memories of our travels and our adventures. Something to hold on to for the moment, and a reason to try to preserve the gift we have.
Many thanks to our national park system for its efforts to maintain and grant access to so many wonders.
